A Simple Yet Powerful Recovery Smoothie

A Simple Yet Powerful Recovery Smoothie

It’s that time of year again where you’re setting new goals and creating new habits to support those goals…

We want to help all that we can.

So today, I want to share with you one of my favorite post workout recovery drinks.

It's a vanilla post workout smoothie to help your body recover and get the most from your workout!

The reason that I love it…

It’s both healthy and easy…

Not to mention, most likely, you will already have all of the ingredients that you need to make this super quick and easy post workout treat…

Grab some bananas, some vanilla almond milk, protein and your favorite nut butter (I use almond butter) and head over to your blender…

This treat will fill your belly, help your muscles recover, leave you full of energy and taste great in the process.

You simply can’t outwork a poor diet and if you don’t want to waste your workout, a go to recovery drink is a must.

Let’s get started…

Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients:

  • 2 scoops Vita-Whey 8-Hour Protein
  • 1 frozen banana (or throw a little bit of ice in)
  • 1 tbsp nut butter (my favorite is almond)
  • 8-12 ozs vanilla almond milk (if you prefer original flavor, just add a bit of vanilla to taste)

Instructions:

  1. Put all the ingredients in your blender
  2. Blend until creamy and smooth
  3. Serve and Enjoy!

Sometimes you may want to add a little flare to it.

If the mood hits you, feel free to add a little bit of cinnamon or walnuts or even a little bit of vanilla spice.

Although there are only a few ingredients, this smoothie is a heavy hitter…

It’s healthy, sweet enough but not sugary, delicious and packed with nutrients that your body needs.

Especially after a good workout, your body will appreciate those great tasting, nutrient rich, natural foods.

And the best part of all…

It’s quick and simple.

This treat will be a great way to replenish your energy as well as give your body those fundamental macro nutrients that it needs the most - protein, fats and carbs…

Try to get this little treat in your body within an hour of your workout for the best results.

And if you get a craving, need a quick meal replacement or just would rather drink your breakfast, this treat would work for that too…

Enjoy and feel free to let me know if you try it!

Do you have a favorite, go to recipe?

Share it with us, we would love to give it a try!

Happy new year, here’s to your health!
